Chemfoam® NVH & Specialty Systems
Applications

Specialised low & medium density foam systems have been developed for sound attenuation and Noise-Vibration-Harshness (NVH) control in automotive and construction applications. Common uses are the production of composite moulded sound attenuating backings for automotive carpets, door liners, head-liners and under dash panels.

The foam materials are suitable for direct moulding onto carpets, fibreboard & plastics. Exposed foam surfaces can be completely waterproofed using polyurethane film mould liners or spray-in-place polyurethane membrane coatings.

Features

Our Chemind Hi-Tec Polymers Chemfoam® specialty flexible foam systems offer the following features:

  • Densities from 50 kg/m3 to 100 kg/m3.
  • All systems are environmentally friendly and contain no Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) and have negligible Global Warming Potential (GWP).
  • Available in standard or fire retarded grades.
  • Excellent moulding properties, foam flow and short demoulding times, allowing the rapid production of long or thin section components.
  • Systems offer excellent “non-crush” cell opening properties, reducing manufacturing time and money.
  • Superior acoustic & vibration damping properties.
  • Low fogging and low free amine chemistry.
  • Designed for processing through standard high or low pressure polyurethane dispensing equipment. As with all of our products, systems can be specifically formulated to suit your requirements and process.
