Chemfoam® Block Foam Systems
Applications

Designed for the discontinuous production of large rigid foam blocks which, after curing, can be cut into sheets of various thicknesses, or profile cut into numerous shapes.

Low-density sheet foam is commonly used as insulation board in the building construction industry and as insulation or buoyancy in the marine industry. Sheet foam can be bonded to other materials to form rigid insulation panels, or can be GRP encapsulated to form lightweight, high strength composite construction panels.

Medium density sheet foam finds application as structural or semi-structural members in the building construction and marine industries.

Profile cut material is often used as pipe insulation or as decorative architectural items.
Other application areas include the production of specialised open celled foam blocks used for flower arranging and for the production of free-form sculpted objects for use in theme parks etc.

Features

Our Chemind Hi-Tec Polymers Chemfoam® block foam systems offer the following features:

  • In place densities from 35 kg/m3 to over 250 kg/m3.
  • Available in standard polyurethane, fire retarded polyurethane or polyisocyanurate grades.
  • Both closed cell and open cell foam systems are available.
  • Extended cream time, high yield and superior foam flow characteristics leading to homogeneous cell structure and physical properties.
  • Low ODP/low GWP/zero VOC, zero ODP/low GWP/zero VOC and zero ODP/zero GWP/zero VOC systems are available.
  • High dimensional stability and physical properties.
  • Designed for processing by mechanical mix-and-pour methods, as well as through standard low pressure or high pressure plural component dispensing equipment.
  • As with all of our products, systems can be specifically formulated to suit your requirements and process.
