Chempol™ - Recycled Rubber Moulding Binders

Description
Single-pack, moisture-curing polyurethane polymers used as flexible binders for the moulding of recycled rubber shred, chip and buffing.  Compression moulding processes can produce products in a range of densities and may incorporate heat or steam accelerated curing.
Moulded products range from moulded impact barriers, speed bumps, sheets, paving and playground features.  The rubber-binder mix are also moulded into large blocks or logs, which are then peeled into sheet rubber for use as acoustic underlay, flooring or soft base layers for running tracks, hockey fields and tennis courts.
These binder products are also suitable for moulding materials other than rubber, such as recycled plastic chip, cork, EPS beads or mixtures of these with rubber.

Uses

• Production of recycled rubber sheet for use as acoustic underlay as a sound isolation layer between tiles or floating timber floors and concrete substrates, particularly for sound deadening between floors in high/medium density apartment accommodation
• Recycled rubber sheet as resilient base layers to athletics tracks, tennis courts, hockey fields or as low fatigue industrial flooring
• Recycled cork sheet for use as gasketing material to industry
• Decorative bonded polymer flooring sheets
• Moulded bonded rubber products including traffic impact barriers, speed bumps, paving tiles, theme park & playground features

• Moisture cured, VOC free polyurea modified polyurethane binders
• High strength pure polyurethane – not diluted with plasticisers or fillers
• Excellent wet-out of recycled rubber, cork and other materials
• Balanced cure rate gives even through cure with or without steam curing
